You Are Now Entering the Death Zone

In mountain climbing ascending above 8000 meters is entry into the "Death Zone." Rightfully named because of the radical risks placed on the human body. From lung and brain edema (swelling of lungs, brain with fluid), frostbite, insomnia, loss of apetite, disorientation, and acute shortness of breath it is baffling to understand the attraction these heights hold on climbers. French scientist and philosopher Blaise Pascal said, "What else does this craving and this helplessness proclaim, but that there was once in man a true happiness, of which all that now remains is the empty print and trace." Can it be that men or women will risk total misery and even death to recover that lost happiness?
